  • Condition at Time of Purchase Good condition tractor only purchase. Per seller, engine had no spark. Tractor had electric lift. Since this was the "newest" Simplicity tractor with a Vickers hydro, I purchased the tractor for a possible swap of the tranny into my 70's Homelite T-12 and other "spare parts".
  • Condition Now I was pleased to find the engine had been replaced with a 1992 "Magnetron" (no points) engine. The PO had "repaired" the electrical system. After "repair" the engine had "no spark". I also found a head gasket leak. I believe the "repair" was a new solenoid and a replaced ignition switch. Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for me, he installed the wrong ignition switch (Kohler type switch from a 7117 I believe) and he fried the mag with +12v. A new mag, not feeding it +12v, and torqueing the head bolts had the engine running great. Little did I know that about 9 month's later the Hommie would break it's axle tube during winter "plow duty". So the Vickers tranny was installed in my T-12 in the spring of 2014. In 2016, the electric lift was installled in my "new" 7016H. I still have the engine, S/G, and BGB for spares.
