  • Condition at Time of Purchase When I bought the tractor it was sitting for eight years. It was in good shape, for a 73 Landlord. It had two flat tires, a worn seat that told me it had a lot of hours. So I took the carburator off and rebuilt it. Changed the oil, sparkplug and I changed the oil in the Bevel gear box, trasmition oil,and greased the whole tractor. I checked everything over before I cranked it over. She started after a few cranks,I had to adjust the carburator, and she was running good and about ten minutes of running she started blowing white smoke. I checked the oil and she was low, about half a quart low. Everything on the tractor was fine, except the bevel gear box was a little bit noisy. Transmition was perfect. I ran the tractor for five years like it was. After so many hours the engine was blowing a quart every hour, but still ran, I tried blowing the engine up,but she never gave up on me. After so much work, plowing snow, rottertelling 2 acers of grass, pulling 17cu.ft.dump cart of dirt, cemment, block, stone, all kinds of junk. So i decided to restore the tractor because it was wourth it.I had a Craftsman tractor before and that was junk, I had a Toro tractor, and that blew up.
  • Condition Now The tractor is 80% done.I bought a brand new 16HP cast iron briggs, 12v ingnition system, its got a 12V Condensor and a MSD BLASTER 2 coil. Its got all all new wiring, front head lights. The bevel gear box was rebuilt, also the trasmition was rebuilt. The tractor runs very good, its got alot of power. I bought a bucket from Johnny Products that works great. After I rebuilt the engine the tractor still wasn't done and my neighbor, with his 17-HP Craftsman 2000 Model wanted to pull me. I didn't think twice about it, it got so intense that our mothers were watching. Needless to say, first pass,in 2nd gear,I pulled him 5-6 feet. He still wouldn't give up, so he had his little nephew sit with him to have more weight. On our second run, I threw it in 3rd gear and matted it! My front tires started to drift so I cut down the throttle and pulled away until he yelled "STOP!". Now he believes that the Simplicity Landlord proved him wrong. Everytime I see him now, I have fun confronting him about pulling. I like the tractor alot, I am looking for 7016 year 1975 sticker detail for the hood. Please contact me if you can assist me with this.
