4041 Rear Hydraulics

I have a 4041 on which the rear hydraulics are not functioning properly. The system will build enough downpressure to lift the rear of the tractor off the ground when I lower a rear-mounted implement, but it will not raise an implement off the ground. It seems to be working correctly in only the one direction. I can lift the implement off the ground by hand and it will stay up in the air until I lower it again. The system has the proper amount of fluid in it, I have installed a new filter, and the hitch is adjusted properly. Also, the front hydraulics work fine. Any help on where to begin looking to fix this situation will be appreciated.

It sounds like the valve is not moving all the way when you move it to the raise position. Check the linkage between the valve and the handle. If it is not that get the valve rebuilt.

I failed to mention in my original post that without any weight, the hitch will raise to its full height. Could it still be the linkage adjustment?
