New Points, no spark 620

Doh! I replaced the points (and condenser) on my AC 620 Onan engine and now I have no spark at the points and no spark at the plugs. It ran poor before the new points ..... but it did run. Thoughts? Sparkless Steve

Tuffy: You probably got the points grounded to the box. Check the brass strap & also insulator bushing. StanD

Have you tried putting your old condenser back in and seeing if that helps? Also I think I have read previously where someone had no spark and it turned out that the screw connecting the condenser was grounding out on the points case. Maybe one of these could help.

Hi there Sparkless, I have to agree with StanD. because I did it twice myself. Tha darn brass strap has a way of gettin too close to the sides in the pointsbox and grounding out. Good Luck, KOA
