Another new orange tractor owner.

Recommended Posts

After a tractor search that streached from sears to john deere. i almost bought a new sears gt5000, then struck a deal for a used JD345 and promptly got ripped around by the seller. when i had given up on my tractor hunt my wife found an ad for an 1998 agco-allis 918h a 100miles away from me. i took the trip and am now the happy owner of a sturdy machine that i think will last a long time. i have never owned anything but cheaply built tractors previously. i will be lurking around this forum and gaining more knowledge. thanks don :) sorry for the rambling.

Welcome to the intensive care unit for orange and yellow infectious disease. Be aware you may not be able to stop with just one. If you can stop at one tractor, you won’t be able to get enough attachments etc to work with it. SOoo don’t think your any stronger than the rest of us here in the ward.8D Dan

Over a year ago, you answered a question I had about the tool bar for my FDT. In your reply dated Dec 31, 2019  you said the spacer, part #16, goes in the bar to allow for up and down depth adjustment. does this mean the bolt has to be tightened at whatever depth desired or does the bolt slide up and down, allowing the lower hitch to free float?
If it is tightened so the lower hitch and the bar are rigid, then is the depth to be controlled by the shoes? Or by the lift handle?
Is there any kind of user directions for the tool bar? The Outdoor Power Manual basically shows how to assemble the bar but not how to use it
