FiremanRon
With all the AC fans here, I thought you might be interested to hear about some 4500 horsepower Allis-Chalmers motors. They are the motors for the main circulating water pumps at the nuclear power plant where I work. They run on 13,800 volts, at 180 amps, and move 140,000 gallons per minute at 50 pounds discharge pressure. Each motor is about 8'x8'x8'. I'll see if I can get a picture to post. paull
Can these motors be adapted to a B series or 400 series tractor? I am looking for a HP boost. Paul LaFiandra
seniormoment
The cost for Nuke QA will get you every time though. Where I work we even have nuke grade duct tape. It's tape with a pedigree...
seniormoment
Do you nuke plant workers really glow in the dark??
grandpawrichard
For extra HP, did you ever try Avation gas or install a Jado assist? Not really recommended, but a lot of fun! ;-) Those Long power cords would be a detriment, while using the BIG AC motors! Not only that but the Power bills would kill you! :-)
