Got a new attachment last night

Paid too much for this (shipping was a killer) but just had to have it. The seller didn't send the drive or idlers for some reason so I had to use what I had laying around. Works pretty well as is but concerned about the RPM since it looks like they came with a larger drive pulley than what I had on hand. Used it to shred a bunch of old elm bark. Makes pretty good mulch. Just need to find a larger supply of bark. Love to have the chipper/shredder that is on ebay now but it is out of my price range. Brent, Looks like it's in good shape though. This is an attachment that I could use, but like you, have been unwilling to pay the "market price" since I don't need it that bad... Does that one have the chipper also, or is it just a shredder? I can't see the chute for the chipper, but it might be the angle of the photo.

The Mighty Mac chipper/shredders are awesome! I've just replaced mine with an 8hp dedicated system, which works better for my needs.

This is just a shredder, no chipper. Paid $150 for it, the bad news is shipping was $95. Marty, I leave the chains on all year due to the huge hill in the back. With turf tires I play sit and spin when pulling the trail mower. I visited Alaska about 10 years ago, just saw the Inside Passage pretty much. Juneau, Skagway, Haines and Glacier Bay. No tractors in tow on that trip. Maybe someday. Dave - supposed to have gotten the manuals in this deal too, but they didn't show up. Waiting on a reply from the seller. Brent

Spending money only hurts once. Enjoyment of the purchase will happen over and over. Between the yellow and green, it looks like some kind of JD rig.

That one has the chipper, too. That may be part of the high price. I bought a brand new 10 hp MTD chipper/shreader several years ago, paid about $600 for it I think. That Mac cost almost as much, and has no engine either.....

I was watching eBay on this one too, when it jumped over $350 I started to wonder if I was in, when I saw it for $510, I was out. I went to Home Depot and priced chippers and they were $399 and $450. I would be curious to know how these would compare to the mighty. This was an item that if it was in the $300 range, I could use it in my yard. Over that, I'd better find another solution.

I agree Brent, but i wind up using mine every spring. Here's some pics of the idler/engage setup if you already don't have any. Dave I'd be interested in a copy of the manual, can you scan the pages? Thanks,Terry

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
