...Took it apart under yonder tree, parts said "e-Bay me"... (to the tune of "Got Me a Cat")

Hey Dutch, if you thought that a FDT was a pain to work on how would you like to have to take the steering apart just to change the drive belt??? There's no way to get it out otherwise!!!

BTW, this belt was made to run with BOTH V-side and back side idlers at the same time. These two pulleys rotate around the center post I'm holding and are the clutching mechanism. I think I'll check the belt length, maybe keep the pulleys for future use....

I'm really amazed at how horrible the deck mount/layout appears to be on a majority of the JD tractors I've seen. Friend of mine has one and said it's a 1.5hr ordeal to pull the deck. He choked when I said I could pull the deck off my 716H in 2 minutes if I was slow.

I agree you did a Good thing to "take care of the Deere" It looked like a Fun one to work on.... LOL
