Hydro fluid choices

Since I have that pricey new filter for the Vickers hydro in the 3310 H, it would be foolish to not change the fluid, too. The "Repair Mnaual, In-Line Hydrostatic Unit" (TP-234) specs Type A, F or Dexron ATF. The "LFGT Service & Repair Manual" (Rev. 4/2001 TP 500-0973-01-SV-SMA) does not spec any fluid for the Vickers, but for the Sundstrand specs Type A, F or Dextron ATF or Simplicity Multi Purpose Hydraulic Fluid. Since I have yet to use a hydro tractor I have zip for experience with hydro fluids. Is one type any better than the others? Is there any difference between Dexron and Dextron or is that just a typo that didn't get caught? Thanks in advance for your input....

Dexron, or Dexron III or Mercon will work. Never heard of Dextron

It's a typo ment to be dexron. the type f in fords was for a more positive shift but mircon is the present day replacement for it as type f can be hard to find.
