pacodiablo Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 I need to clean the head on the B&S. There is quite a bit of carbon buildup and there is a limit to what high-pressure water and WD 40 can do. I was wondering if it was safe to use 150 grit sand paper to get the really tough stuff off and then finish it off with 320 grit and a polishing? Or would this remove too much metal and cause too many imperfections in the metal?
BLT Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 Chip it out with a chisel and stay clear of mating surface, head to block. You can chip it out by hand.
