Well with my luck here recently with pictures they probably wont show. Now the motor is off. The guy I bought it from said that it had been rebuilt and they put the oil dipper in the wrong way or something and it made a rattling noise. Well I've never had a big cast iron briggs apart before and its synchro balanced which will make it more complicated. Took the head off and the piston wobbles a bit and my friend who runs a lawnmower repair business told me that it was a very poorly done rebuild from what he saw and that I probably need a piston, hopefully the crank is ok. Still have to remove the oil pan and the flywheel. He told me a piston would be something like $60. I'm hoping not to get into too much money, Oh well. -Chris

Got the motor apart this afternoon to discover it has too small of a piston, a broken oil control ring, the rod journal is scarred beyond repair, connnecting rod is destroyed, governor is broken (but I have a spare to fix that). I guess its still worth putting a new crank, piston and rod in it? -Chris
