question for the experts

or anyone else that can answer it. First off I'm gonna build a pulling tractor for next season. I want a Simplicity or Allis product. Whats my wife think??? Go for it but if you have one shouldnt the boys have one too?? So now I need to build 2 right?? Wrong Ok but the boys will be in different age groups and around here a tractor can only pull twice per show no matter the driver, so the kids cant each pull once and take turns in the same class like their cousins do. So now I need to build 3 right?? Wrong Got a third kid. So if I gotta build 4 tractors I want them pretty close to the same to save on trouble and spare parts but I dont want them to look or be the same and still be close to original. NOW the real question... What model or models can I go with that I can paint so it looks like I have an Allis, a Simplicity, a Deutz-Allis and a Homelite?? In other words is there a model that has a look-alike in all 4 brands?????

Deutz built Allis (900 series) .................. Green Simplicity built Homelite (T-10, T-13, T-16) .......... Blue Simplicity (7000, 7100 series) ......................... Orange & White A-C built Allis (700, 900 series) .................... Orange All basically the same LFGT. Sounds like a neat idea. BTW - Don't forget (my favorite) the JC Penny (494) .... Yellow. Then you can build 5.

Dutch.. I did forget the JC Penny thanks for the reminder but is there a particular model with the same basic body style for all 5? Ive never seen a pic of a Penny so is it b10 body style or 3415 style or what?

All that I listed are RBTs. Here's the JC Penney.

Cool dutch thanks. Sorry I asked again, I missed the series numbers the first time I read your post. So I can get any 5 of several models and they can be mechanically the same and painted different and still look "right". Thanks again

Dan, My 712S project is built from parts of 8 or more tractors, but none of them were an AC712S. Many of these tractors used the same parts especially in the series that Dutch mentioned. Only difference - old style or new style hoods.

Dan, Try to get ahold of member Jeff Jager, be in NJ. Him and his father both pull with Allis Chalmers tractors, and do very well. 2 of there tractors are in the gallery, but Jeff has 1 or 2 more now also. I have seen is fathers up close and personal,,,,huh, the word "stock" seems to have a new meaning these days. hehehehe I think Jeff also pulls a deisel.
