engine swap

have a 7016H with a good motor:) and a 7117H with a bad motor:(. was wondering if the engine swap would work and what kind of problems i should look for in doing the swap. thanks, joel

I'm not positive and maybe someone else can jump in here too. They are both Sovereign style tractors of about the same age. They should be pretty much the same other than one is a Kohler and the other a Briggs. You would need a Kohler flywheel adapter but since you have both tractors it should be a pretty basic swap. Although some of the wiring may be different, I'm not sure.

Problem areas to look for: Engine mount holes, fuel line hook-ups, driveshaft length, throttle hook-up. Other than that, it should mount right on the chassis. I've changed several, and never had a major problem.
