Steve_Wyrick Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 When timing a pto drive gear for a 16hp single cyclinder engine, Should the piston be at top dead center or should you line up the timing marks on the cam and crankshaft and then time pto drive gear. Is the mark on crankshaft not the top dead center mark or is it just a timing mark for the cam. It look like it would be better to line up crank and cam gear and then time the pto drive gear. Piston will be down in the hole just a little bit but everything would be time perfectly it seems. Any advice on the subject.
