IronPony Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 A quick refresher - I have an AC712 with a K301S engine. I bought a K341S engine to replace the 301. Discovered there was only one wire to go from the coil to the tractor electrics and one from the battery to the starter?? I just finished switching the flywheels and guess what?? There was no stator or magnets associated with the flywheel on the K341. It was purpose built to run a start all unit mounted in a pick-up using the pick-up's battery for electrics. In the process of doing all this I also ended up with K321AQS which has the 30 amp system in it. Sooo - I have three K series Kohler engines with three different electric systemsxx( Thanks to all who encouraged me to do the flywheel switch and the re-power. I have not started the K341 with the 301 flyhwheel yet because it is still out of the tractor. Remember to file under Nice to Know that there are Kohler motors out there that don't have their electrics[:0] Dan
IronPony Posted August 2, 2003 Author Posted August 2, 2003 Woke up this AM thinking about this engine - I think it could have been originally set up to take the starter/generator configuration. That would explain why there was nothing behind the flywheel. DUH :I Dan
