I have an AC B-10 with the 12" wheels. Does anyone know of a 14" inch wheel that will match the hub on this tractor? Thanks, Meck

I have been told that some ford wheels and chrysler mini van wheels have the same bolt pattern as the 12 inch garden tractor wheel. I am going to the local junkyard this weekend and check it out. I will let you know what I find out. I have some 15 inch tractor tread tires that I would like to put on some modified tractors That I want to build.

There are auto wheels with the same bolt pattern. Check your junkyard's "Hollander Interchange" manual. Bolt pattern is only one consideration. Offset is another consideration. Also, be prepared to modify the seat deck height to clear larger tires.

Any wheel will fit if it has a bolt pattern of 5 on 4½". Which means 5 lug holes arranged in a circle of 4½" diameter on center. This is called a 5 on 4½ bolt pattern. On a 5 lug wheel you can measure this by measuring from the center of one bolt hole skipping one bolt hole and to the center of the next bolt hole and adding ¼". What is just as important is the back spacing or offset so that nothing rubs on the inside. This is measured by placing a straight edge across the back side of the rim and then measuring to the back of the mounting flange on the inside of the wheel. It is best to measure this with a tire mounted. This will give you the back spacing in inches. To measure your tractor for the back spacing it will except, with wheel removed place a straight edge on the outside of the mounting flange and measure to the closest area or object on the tractor that the tire might rub on.

Thanks Maynard! That is some every useful information. Not only for Garden tractor buffs but for motorheads as well.

Just carried a winter tire for the B-112 across the yard to a 1/2ton dodge pick-up rear-end thats laying up there since it measured right according to Maynards posting. Bolt pattern fits, but the lug studs are bigger dia then the holes in the rim. I'd say Dodge 1/2 ton pickup rims would fit on the tractor, thinking the lug bolts will keep it centered. Ply minivan bolt patteren is 5 on 4..MPH

5 on 4 1/2 is the pattern for Ford and Chrysler passenger cars during 60s and 70s.

Free wheels from the salvage yard. Salvage yard told me I could have all I wanted for free. These all came from GM vehicles (Olds Cutlass Ciera, Chevy Corsica,ect.). They can be found in 14" and 15" rims. With the compact tire on them they are not any taller than a garden tractor tire.

I never expected to get so much useful information to my question. Thanks to all of you for the time you took to help out. I'll find some "small Ford" wheels and try them. (I posted this reply last night, but it seems to have gotten lost somewhere. If you get it twice, I apologize). Meck
