Boney Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 Have simplicities ever come with those metal " pan" { sorry dont know correct term} seats ? the ones with no padding on them.
Kent Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 Not to my knowledge, other than on the sulky carts that pulled behind a two-wheeled tractor.
JoeJ Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 I have one on my "other" tractor. I use this mainly for snow plowing. With jeans and a set of Carharts on, it's almost useable!! hehehehe
rokon2813 Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 most of those old seats are pretty much the same basic design maybe with different hole patterns. If you ever find yourself with several extras, paint them different standard colors, like a/c orange jd green oliver green etc and take them to a show. They will sell like hotcakes for $30 to $40 each. At least around here they do. Collectors pay big for them either to put on restored farm tractors or to just hang on the wall.
Stoneheartfarm Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 I believe they are called "spring seats". There are usually a number of them on eBay. I don't very often see the mounting spring with them, however. Like Joe said, they take some getting used to. Steve
Kent Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 The lace-on cushions can actually make the old spring seats fairly comfortable -- very similar to the "bucket seats" on the older Simplicity tractors. They're inexpensive and available at most farm stores in a variety of colors such as red/white, black/white, blue/white, green/yellow, etc.
stormy2163 Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 quote:Originally posted by Boney I like the way they look I do to. Joe I hope you didn't buy those Carharts.:DThey are very big supporters of taking away firearms and Pepsi to.Just some info.:D
JoeJ Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 :DRobin Used Carharts for many years and still would if working outside in the winter.
