Hi, We see a lot of these series engines running unleaded fuel and don't see any exceptional problems. Many of these, not all, have stellite exhaust valves. As for oil Briggs has recommended a top quality detergent oil. There have been practically no changes in these engines until they were recently discontinued due to not making the polution standards. I wouldn't worry about it, just feed it grass and enjoy it. Good lluck, Al

Briggs engines have never required leaded gas. Many people use to recommend burning "white gas" in Briggs engines. All the lead ever did was build up deposits in the carbs if you let the gas sit in there over the winter. Tim
