Mumbly Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 The oil censor on my 18hp cckb motor is leaking I called Onan and they quote a part #193-0108 for $78.80 surely somebody has an alternative. PLEASE help with any ideas Thanks Mumbly
markpogue Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 The normal operating oil pressure (warm engine) for the cck/cckb is 30 psi. the oil sender is nothing more than a normally closed switch that is open under pressure and closes when oil pressure drops. With the above in mind check your local parts store for a switch of the right thred that is normally closed and opens around 15psi and in turn closes around 15 psi. I know NAPA has them. and most parts houses have a book with specs on all the senders etc that they carry.;)
Mumbly Posted August 20, 2003 Author Posted August 20, 2003 Thank-you I will go to NAPA tomorrow and find one. Terry
Mumbly Posted September 2, 2003 Author Posted September 2, 2003 Thanks everybody finale got to NAPA. 5 minutes in the book and $8.00 and I was out the door. I think Onan has missed priced their's or there making a killing on mark up. Once again thank you
gretsch Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 I seriously doubt if they mis-priced it. They seem to try and get away with extreme price gouging whenever possible.
