Karl_Brandt
Hi Kent, I must say that having used one of these as a young kid that I find them to be most interesting to say the least. I can't help but think that with all of the information about Simplicity & Ac products that you already have, that the Walkers add another whole chapter to explore. I have visited Karls site often and have found it to be very interesting also. Personally I think any information that you can obtain at this point and time would be a real "bonus" for your site. Its great that the membership is still climbing and I feel that with the Walkers it will climb even more. By looking at these Walkers its interesting to see just how Simplicity designed their 4 wheel tractors and implements. As always "KENT" a job well done and thanks for everything->happyjack<-
Kent
It's taken a while, but I've just added quite a bit of info in a new section called "Walkers." It's an owners manual that covers the models L-1, M-1, and 5HP model V from some time in the early to mid-50's -- I'm not sure when, since there's no date on it, and by 1957 Simplicity was up to a 7HP model VB. It's not complete -- I'm still working on adding some of the parts diagrams for the attachments (this is some tedious stuff...) To help set priorities for my limited time, my questions are: 1) How valuable is this info? 2) What is most valuable? 3) What other type of info is desired or needed? Thanks to Jack Lindstrom (happyjack) for finding and arranging the loan of the source material from Mark Waite and Joel Wicker at University Lawn Equipment.... Kent BTW -- Have you noticed that membership is now over 600?[A href='http://www.simpletractors.com/walkers/walkers.htm']http://www.simpletractors.com/walkers/walkers.htm[/a]
pvbjr
Yes,Yes,Yes please include any and all info. for these workhorses, I have a 1965 Model W with all sorts of attachments and can't find any info.on it besides what little the sales brochures offer. I also was given the same owners manual that you show in the new section, the dealer that gave it to me pointed out the date his father had written on the cover "1953". Apparently Simplicity has no manual's for these machines I have tried several times to get some but keep getting told they dont have them. Once again anything for these tractors would be great (especialy Model W's). Remember these Walk behinds were the original Simplicity's. Fantastic job on this web page Kent. Karl_Brandt
This information is very valuable to any one who collects two wheel walk behind garden tractors. Some nice color pictures, and engine models. What year the different models were made. Nice job on the owner's manual. FiremanRon
My dad has a couple of older Simplicity walkers, a D and an F. I was really suprised by the large assortment of attachments made for these, even though they had only 2 or 3 horsepower. As the prime source of Simplicity information, please include anything you find, especilly pictures and catalogs. And a hot link to Karl's page. Guest
Just joined. I own a Simplicity VC Model 190155 ( 1959 or so ) and use it regularly for snowblowing. I have been looking on the net on and off for a while and stumbled upon this. I believe I have ~3 brochures of a slightly different vintage, that if I find I could scan. But I can't promise I have the time for a while. Am looking for a source of a rear roto tiller attachment, service documentation ( transmission leaks ! ), and parts if possible. Walkers are for "real men". My machine laughs at most stuff you can buy today. Keep up the good work.
