chuck Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 I would like to if it is possible to add a rear pto to 4040 that did not come factory equiped with it? many did like the ac720. how hard to find the parts and how much would this cost. thanks chuck
MPH Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 Chuck, I believe its a pretty indebt deal to add. Way I understand it was basicly built into the tranny. Have not seen one that I looked over close enough to say for sure. Tossing around the idea of hydralic driven rear power for mine. I have no attachment to use the front PTO for so thinking of a hydralic pump up there, tank maybe under the seat. I don't have anything to use rear pto on either so its a low proity thought..MPH
cranemech Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 Hey All, I had to replace a shaft in my 620 rear PTO and the parts were NLA. I was able to purchase a used shaft though. Later, Chad
markpogue Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 The best thing you could do is sell yours and buy one with rear pto or find a gear box from someone who has parted one out. There was one parted out about a month or so back.
SmilinSam Posted August 23, 2003 Posted August 23, 2003 Its a complex critter to transpose from one tramsmission to another from looking at the parts diagram. I gave the idea thought with my 720 that does not have one either. After thinking on it there are only a very few attachments that can be used on it and from what I was hearing the PTO is not terribly heavy duty in the first place. So, I put the idea out of mind. Don't want any more expenses if I don't really need it.
