cooley46 Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 my 6111 scrapes pretty bad when you put it in gear .and the brakes arent real good .can the brakes cause the shifting problem?
Kent Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 Yes, the brake also stops the tranny gears from moving... check both the belt stop(s) and the brake adjustments. Typically grinding the gears means that you're trying to change gears while the unsyncronized transmission is still spinning.... If the belt stops are not there, and adjusted correctly, there is enough friction from the belt to keep the tranny still spinning. If the brake isn't adjusted right, or oil-soaked, it will take it longer to stop the tranny from spinning....
