ambler Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Just found a second broken connector, this one on the wiring harness. The connector is the same in both cases. There is a one inch fine thread bolt as the terminal to the ammeter. The connector slips over this terminal bolt. What kind of connector is this and where can I get it without buying an entire harness!!
Dutch Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Don't know for sure what you're describing, but it sounds like a "push on" connector. If so, they can usually be tightened up by removing and gently squeezing with pliers. If yours can't be tightened, cut it off and replace it with an "eye" connector. A couple of nuts will hold the "eye" to the ammeter terminal stud.
ambler Posted August 26, 2003 Author Posted August 26, 2003 Yes it is the pushon connector. They are located on the ammeter and circuit breaker. It's a shame I can't get the proper connector, but two dealers say they put eyelets in. Its a fine threaded inch to twirl a nut.
Agricola Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 I looked high and low on the net and found nothing. I would bet that if you went to a quality electrical supply house they might be able to set you up.
