Have a 3314 sovereign and a 36" ac tiller. The lift bar assy. on the tiller is an inch and an eighth. The rear lift on the tractor accepts inch dia. lift bar. It looks impossible th take lift bar off the tiller to turn down to one inch. Any ideas other than replacing the tiller lift bar? Thanks

The 300/400 series had a different diameter lift bar, the width spacing on the lower points may have been different also. The tillers for the smaller frame tractors have different hitches also, I have never heard of anyone retrofitting a small frame type tiller to a large frame tractor. What would be helpful is if you know the tractor model that the tiller came off of, or the AC part number on the tiller if possible. If we know exactly what kind of tiller then someone who visits this site probably knows if it can or cant be done.

The man I received the tiller from has passed away in the last year. No mfg. number on tiller, only serial number. The tiller is identical to the simplicity tiller 990694. I have a spring tooth and 10 inch moldboard plow that fit the 3314 also. Thanks Henry

Henry, if you can post a picture it might help someone help you out..The lift rod on mine can be removed though there would still be the yoke attached to it..MPH

Can't get it to enlarge in your gallery for a better look, thus can't make out the lift bar set-up. My tiller is the older round shroud type. When posting a new topic there is a hand looking flag, last thing to the rt that you click on to post pics. To add them to a reply you have to open the reply box, second from left, on the bottom of the page..MPH

Your tiller looks like it was made for the 300/400 series allis tractors. -Chris

Quite different looking then mine Henry, but it looks like there is a pin through the tiller housing that the lift rod pivots on, can't tell what holds it together. IF it come off like I thinkin it be a hard piece to chuck into a lath..MPH

If the tiller only works on 300/400 series allis chalmers at least it gives you an excuse to buy another tractor to make use of the tiller;) -Chris

The easiest, fastest, and cheapest way to do it I would think would be to change the rear lift arm to one from an Allis 300/400. Then you could change back to the simplicity one very easily
