simplicity707 Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 A couple days ago, my grandpa was talking to a good friend of ours. I didn't pay any attention to it though. One evening I was eating supper, and there was a knock at the door. It was him. He said my grandpa was telling him i'm desparatley looking for a plow and chains. We'll he said he had a set of chains that'd he give me for nothing that might fit. Later that night, he brought them over. The next day, I tried them out, sure enough, they fit perfect! Now all thats to find is the blade (the hardest one to find), and the weights. What have you all tried for weights? I thought a bag of sand would do me fine, but I wanted to get your opinions. thnx,,dave p.
Chris727 Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 There are many different types of weights. There are counterweights that make it easier to lift front or rear attachments, and there are front and rear wheel weights for many tracotrs. I think only rear were available for broadmoors. Check Home Depot out. I saw some on clearance for $20. They were made by MTD but may have fit a broadmoor. Measure your wheel rim and check around for some used ones if thats the route you take. How were you going to mount the sandbag?
sun41bird Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 do a search for wheel weights lots of info there tom
simplicity707 Posted October 25, 2003 Author Posted October 25, 2003 I think that i'll try the home depot for weights, but in the mean time, i've got some good news. I think i've found a snow-plow. I went to talk to the person who gave me the chains, and he told me he might have found me a Simplicity snow-blade. He did some horse-trading with a friend of his, and it was his turn to get something back. We'll, he said his friend had a Simplicity snow-blade, so we're going tomorrow to take a look at it. He said the guy would probably sell it to me for $10.00, can you believe that! Thats the best deal i've had! I'll keep updated on what happens.
