Wheelhorse....need info

Does anyone know of a good web site dedicated to Wheelhorse, that would have some technical information. All I can find are sights that show restored examples. I picked up a C120 8 speed,(1976 ?), with a tiller 2 days ago, and need to do some work to it to get it running. I would rather it have been a Simp. or AC, but got it for a deal I couldn't refuse. Body and paint are like new, but it does have mechanical and electrical problems. Would like to see what I'm dealing with before I dive into it too far. Thanks Dave

David there is a site called www.wheelhorsebarn.com I'm not sure how helpful it will be. Also, I have a close friend here that is as crazy over Wheel Horse as we are about A/C and Simplicity. He has tons of experience and info on them. Let me know if you'd like me to have him get in touch. Larry

I wouldn't mind seeing a pic of that wheelhorse, it might bring back some memories. I'm a Simplicity owner now but I grew up on wheelhorses. Both my grandpa's and dad owned wheelhorses for as long as I can remember back. If I came across one at a good price I'd have a hard time turning it down too. Mark

I'm no expert on internal mechanic on the transmissions or engines, but the rest of the Wheel horse anatomy is fairly simple . I have refurbished a 520( of which I prefer to mow with over my AC's[:0]), C-160, Charger 12, 417A, C-105, C-145, GT-1100, and a couple other I probably forgot about. www.toro.com has downloadable manuals as well as pay to purchse ones. You will need your Wheel Horse model number to look them up. Most owners manual contain a wiring diagram. If you have any question I can answer I will do my best....:D

Mark,... both my Dad and my Grandpa also owned Wheelhorses back when I was little. I think my Dad got ours in the mid 60's. We lived up north then, and had property. They got used pretty hard all year, and when we moved to Fl., I think my dad was able to sell it for almost the same price as he got it for new, 10 years earlier. I'll try to get some pics of this one posted . Sam.. Thanks for the info. I piddled around with it today, and figured out the wiring . It appears that is where most of the problems are. I will sure keep you in mind if I run into a problem with this that I can't figure out. Thanks, Dave
