wasmeneh Posted October 25, 2003 Posted October 25, 2003 I'm thinking of putting a bagger on my 4211H, is anybody bagging with one...Does the shallow deck cause it to clog alot? Any ideas? My old Cub seems to have a clogging problem but I would like to get one of them to bag OK. Still looking for the bagging unit if anyone has one that fits. Thanks Mike
fuzy Posted October 25, 2003 Posted October 25, 2003 Mike, bagging should be okay. The best would be to put a turbo on there. Then you definately won't have any clogging problems. If you don't find one let me know and the dealership I work for might have something...new or used...just would have to check our stock. John
goatfarmer Posted October 25, 2003 Posted October 25, 2003 There's a 4200 series down the road from me that's for sale. I think there's a bagger with it. I'll have to go investigate further.
papamerkle Posted October 25, 2003 Posted October 25, 2003 I used to bag grass/leaves with my 96 Landlord with a 50 inch deck. It has a shallow deck. System works great.:) Mine has a motor/blower that dunp grass/leaves into a trailer. The only problem I had was plugging hose between mower deck and blower.:( I change to multching leaves 4 years ago. Best change I did.:) I experment with multching half the yard and bagging the other half. The grass in the multching side look beter and I use less fertilizer on it.8D I have 5 yards with leaves I take care of. The only place I have to dump leave is my local compost site which is 10 miles away.
wasmeneh Posted October 25, 2003 Author Posted October 25, 2003 Kenny/John, I've checked locally and Simplicity tractors are pretty new to the Coastal NC area. The 4 dealers in my area 100 miles are pretty new and have no real knowledge of the older models. Any help in finding a unit would be great!!!! Thanks in advance Mike
fuzy Posted October 25, 2003 Posted October 25, 2003 I would have a few options for you. Either call me monday at 1-800-236-2333 or send me an e-mail to parts@simplicityparts.com and I would be glad to help you and explain further your options.
Tue Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 I have a 4212 with a bagging system. On the deck outlet there is a turbo mounded and a little wagon attached on the tractor. See pictures below I only have clogging if the grass is very tall and wet. The clogging is always between deck and blower, but I haven’t had any this year. I suspect that’s because, I just gave my deck special treatment last winter, where I cleaned the deck and painted it.Now the grass dose not stick anymore and when I look under the deck it’s clean as my wifes kitchen:D. wasmeneh Posted October 26, 2003 Author Posted October 26, 2003 Tue, That looks like exactly what I would like, Does the blower hook to the PTO. I'd like to find one like this for my 4211H. Fuzy, You've got mail. Thanks to all Mike
fuzy Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Mike, I think I actually still have one of those rear catchers like that instock. It is brand new in a box. I will check into it on Monday and reply to your e-mail. John
Tue Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Yes the belt hooks on the deck PTO. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to take a picture where you can see the exact setup if you are interested ?. Tue
wasmeneh Posted October 26, 2003 Author Posted October 26, 2003 John/Tue, Thanks to both, John if you want I'll send you my work email to your web site. Mike
dads707 Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 I think there is a turbo unit for sale on e-bay.
dads707 Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Sorry Mike, it is a housing, not a turbo unit. I should have checked before I posted.....
wasmeneh Posted October 26, 2003 Author Posted October 26, 2003 Dads, I saw it too, my luck no guts. Fuzzy and John are checking into some possibilities. With my PPPPPPIIIIINNNNEEE straw I think the turbo is the way to go, unless I go with something even bigger like the cyclone rake, but I like the smaller size of the Simplicity unit. Either way my "BOSS" won't like the new toy, but her Dad's yard needs it badly, you can only mulch so many live oak leaves until it kills the grass. Thanks again Mike
