stormy2163 Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Got my tractors home tonight from Georgia. Will post some pictures tomorrow and in my own opinion well worth the long haul.:)
dirtsaver Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Robin I kind of remember the mention of some free tractors but can not remember for the life of me what they were. Can you refresh our feeble 48 year old brain? Larry
stumpy Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Robin, glad to hear you had a safe and productive trip. Whatcha get?
stormy2163 Posted October 26, 2003 Author Posted October 26, 2003 A wheelhorse.A Sears. and the biggie 66 Landlord 101.
dirtsaver Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Good haul Robin! If thw WH is pre-Toro it might be a keeper. Same with the Sears, if it's an old CustomXL or a Surburban with the three pt. lift they are a good unit to restore and use or sell to a GT puller cause they love that heavy rearend. As for the Landlord.....no doubt where it will be! Enjoy your find Robin! Larry
HubbardRA Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Good find! I have a Sears Suburban that I am going to build a front loader for. My 61 Wards is also very similar to the Landlord 101. I think you will love them both if you get them going. Have fun with them.
UCD Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Robin I just moved your thread back here minus 15 or 20 replies. Sorry for any inconvenience. Things got a little heated last night as someone did not like the idea of you getting those tractors. especially before he got to them. This all happened just as I was going to go to bed and I spent another couple hours on it. I should have sent you a message as to why the post was being moved when I moved it but it slipped my mind. I am sorry.
stormy2163 Posted October 27, 2003 Author Posted October 27, 2003 No worries.I was just looking for it this morning and couldn't find it.I didn't mean to cause a conflict .Just wanted to post that we all made it home and would post photos today. After I posted I went to bed was very tired.I guess you are as well from having to take care of whatever happened here.My apoligies for whatever took place to you and any members involved. Robin
UCD Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Robin We are all now loking for the pictures of those tractors you were so lucky to get.
jkmustang1 Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Robin now that you have three all is right with the world. They say things come in threes. For me they are Ralph, Alice , and Fremont B10,b110 and 312h. Can't wait to see them congrats.
thedaddycat Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Robin, Glad to hear you got them back safe and sound. Had I been closer, you'd have been looking at my pics of the "Latest Score".... LOL I'm glad such a good and kindhearted club member got them. To whoever took offense at Stormy getting those tractors, your issue is with me. I'm the one who saw the ad and sent her a PM about them. She got to them first because of me. As stated above, they'd have been mine by now save the distance involved. I am man enough to take whatever criticism you care to direct my way. Please be equally forthright.....
roneil Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I wish the thread hadn't been tampered with. I'd like to be aware of what's being said. Who was being protected by having their (apparently) petty posts removed. If a member chooses to make an *ss of themselves so be it. In the future, in a member supported club, I think we should be able to deal with what is posted and not be "protected" from heated discussions. I can understand if bad language is used or personal attacks are made that something needs to be done. Maybe the offending posters replies could be moved to a special area available only to members. If we are paying dues, we should know what others are saying, if they offend, they can be dealt with either by expulsion or natural ostracism. This one struck a nerve with me, most likely because I was excited for Robin and am upset that anyone would stoop so low as to be bitter about her good fortune. Good luck with your tractors Robin! Bob
DaleC Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I would take any free tractors I could find like that! Great find!
Kent Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Bob, The problem the moderators have is when "garbage" gets intermingled in replies below a main topic... Leaving the insults or verbal attacks there for everyone, including anonymous visitors, to see is not quite appropriate. But, when we cut them out, "tampering with it," it leaves some evidence that something is missing.... This topic was moved overnight, the "offender's" record temporarily locked so they could "cool down," and then the topic was cleaned up as much as possible and put back here.... The "tampering" wasn't to "protect" the offender -- but to "protect" Stormy (and others) who were on the receiving end of those words.... The offender has been warned. Kent
