AC808 Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I found this in someones yard...I was told i could have it for $20..anyone know anything about it? Its sooooo cute ;-)
thedaddycat Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Put a blank line between the two pics, they'll show up stacked instead of side by side... Cute little thing, for $20 I'd grab it!!
rokon2813 Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Right color for a toro though I think toros engine was a little further forward. Could be a Rugg, or a Huffy or one of several others. I also think the toro had a hole in the hood for the gas tank, but maybe not every model.
AC808 Posted October 27, 2003 Author Posted October 27, 2003 When drove up to it I noticed the '5' (5hp) on the side and thought it was an 'S'...maybe a rare one-off Simplicity...The front tires are solid rubber and the back are still inflated.
rokon2813 Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I missed the rear of it at first. Toro did have the crank height adjuster behind the seat too.
AC808 Posted October 27, 2003 Author Posted October 27, 2003 Also says 'Tru-test' on the engine cover...Maybe sold by Tru-Value???
Boney Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 $20 id grab it, be fun for a kid to drive around on
MN_FISH Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Load it up before some one else does:D Pays to keep your eyes open:)
Scott Salmons Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 That tractor looks like a K-mart unit my Grandfather give me about 35 years ago. He removed the mower deck and I had a lot of fun with it. It had a 4hp Briggs and was light greenish blue and if I remember correctly was a Springfield? Other than the color and minor differences in the hood it was identical.
ehertzfeld Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 kinda looks like a old fairlane. I just fond it on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2565998638&category=4708
MikeG Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 That little tractor is a Rugg. I have one like it but mine is a bit newer, it has a fiberglass hood not metal like the picture. My motor numbers idicate it was built in 1967, the pictured one must be a few years earlier. I've seen several with Tru-test labels, also a 7 hp. Rugg made these guys for with several diferent names. They work by pushing the foot lever down to engage the drive. Mike
