Hi,I know where i can get a AC916H at for $75.00.Is that a bad price? There is no motor in it or a seat. How hard is it to fine a engine that will work in it? Thanks Tony

Tony if you could verify that the hydro unit is ok and all the other parts are there I'd say $50-$75 would be a good price. On the other hand, sit down and figure what the parts would bring on ebay. I guess in the end it depends wether you want it for yourself or to resell. A 916H running in good shape might bring $400 or better in the spring. I know this is not much of an answer but hashing out these questions is how I decide what to pay for non-working tractors. Good luck on what you decide! Larry

Here a pic of,the motor doesn't go with it

I'd give that much for it if it were closer to me. Engines can be found, and re-powering has never been a problem for me. None of my three tractors has the original engine, and only one of those came from a Simplicity type tractor.

Tony, I know where Mocksville is. You are in allis country down there also. If the Hydro is good you have a bargain. . If there is a mower deck, I would say. I have friends in Winston-Salem. Next time I am up, I'd like to mosey over and see your tractors. Ah, Tony. Just thought of something, Why are they taking the motor out? Better check into that Hydro unit. It may be out!![V]

Hi,The guy that has it said the hydro is good. There isn't a deck just the tractor. The guy wants the motor.Or i could buy the motor for $400 which i think is a little high.Tony

400 doesnt sound that high considering what a new 16 hp that fits cost 600 -800$my guess

Tony a suggestion! Since the motor is there, have the guy start and run the tractor. If the bevel gear box and hydro seem to work make him an offer. If they don't or if he does not want to cooperate, tell him you'll give him $25 for it. If he doesn't want to help you I'd say the hydro or bgb one it shot. Larry

I'm in a different sort of position selling parts and all, but I'd have jumped right on that one without a hesitation. Especially if it is equipped with a hydraulic lift. Not necesarily to fix it , but for parts. Holes should already be pre drilled in the frame for the 12 -16hp Single Kohlers and the 12-16hp Briggs cast singles. You will need longer control cables (at least one of them) for the Briggs if you switch. The Briggs would require a different keyswitch and if you drpo a older starter Generator equipped engine in it you will need to re-wire the tractor a bit. Keep in mind that you will have to use a 1971 or newer Briggs with the dipstick pipe threaded into the block . The older ones with the fill/check plug in the pan wont work, as the pan won't fit in the frame. As far as what its worth parts wise, well the complete working tranny assembly....$300-$500, or if the pump is bad just the push release valves in the tranny $50 each if working. I agree that if it currently runs to have the owner run it for you to see that the tranny works for sure if possible.

ok that's everyone.I'm going to email him to see if he will start it up so i can see if the tranny works and the hydraulic lift works too. Will let you know what he says.Tony

Hi, We have been this business for going on 26 years, and I can count on one hand the Sunstrand hydros that we have seen bad. These have ususally been because the person towed the tractor without the engine running. I have a 7116 with a NEW Command 18 and new brgs in the mower, new shafts, brgs, and gears in the BGB and are asking 3195.00 and it will bring it in the Spring. Al Eden
