DaleC Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 I know it is a front hitch, but to what. I also have one that is off of a simplicity that is square where this one is tapered.
Dutch Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 That's a hitch for a snow / dozer blade for a FDT. It can also be used for a belly mount grader blade if the lift arm is cut off. There are a few guys looking to buy one of them.
rokon2813 Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 I cant tell from the pic if its for large frame or small frame but I need one for the large frame tractors. Is it for sale?
DaleC Posted October 31, 2003 Author Posted October 31, 2003 I am as bad as the people who have a variable junk yard of things they are not and will not use and won't part with it. I might use it someday.:)
thedaddycat Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 You didn't post a pic of the "Squared" one, but that one sounds like it would be for a RBT. The arm is more upright instead of leaning back towards the tractor for added clearance for the longer hoods that hid the front PTO starting with the 3300 series tractors..... I'm suprised there isn't a plow hitch in "The Pile", but I have one so you're covered either way....
RayS Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 That is a hitch for a 42 inch snowblade for a B series Allis. RayS
rokon2813 Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 you would think there would be one there Kirk, but I havent found one. There are 5 plows there but only one is Allis and its for the 400 series. They look quite a bit different than the B's.
DaleC Posted November 1, 2003 Author Posted November 1, 2003 I am bidding on a snow blade with no hitch now on E-bay. It is simplicity. I am going to be able to use the blade hitch with that. I assume that the snowblade and the dozer blade use the same hitch.
thedaddycat Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Well I have I think five or six plow blades and hitches, one Broadmoor hitch, one walking tractor hitch and one three belt blower hitch, the rest are FDT style hitches. The snow plow blade is the same blade as a dozer blade, just depends on what you're using it on for the name..... On the left is a 30" plow for the two wheeled walking tractors. Next over is a 42" plow on a Broadmoor hitch. The other two plows are both 42" baldes on FDT hitches, and the three belt blower hitch is resting atop the near blade. The blower hitch is slightly shorter than the FDT hitch, so while you could mount any of these blades to any of these hitches you might not be able to get the angle on the blower hitch without the blade hitting a front tire. I don't know for sure since I've never tried it, though... The grader blade hitch would be like the FDT hitch without the lift rod attachment arm.
