I had a frightening but now funny experience last evening. I sold my big Bolens Hydro so I needed to load it onto my trailer for delivery. I hooked my utility trailer to the back of my B-10 via a homemade trailer hitch. I used ramps to drive the Bolens onto the trailer and when I got half way on the trailer the B-10 lifted straght up in the air and it was sitting at near a 90 degree angle. At this point I had two choices, back up and take a chance of getting shot off the ramps or continue forward. I chose the latter and drove forward. The B-10 and the trailer came back down to earth just like I had planned all along. If anyone saw me they would surely think I was nuts. All worked out well but man It shook me up for a few minutes. I think I may have expected a little too much out of Allis.

A similar thing happened to me also, i was trying to go up a little hill about 2 feet high and the tires were spinning. I backed up and took a little run and the 712 came right up about 90degrees. I chose to go in reverse though because if i got traction it would shurly go over. I was really shook up but now i know it was a good lesson. lol:)

Driving down the highway the other day I saw a man in a delima with his pickup and a cub. He had backed up to a bank (Like we all have done) and use two boards to bridge the difference to drive his mower off. The planks shot out and he was left with the front frame hung on the tail gate and the rear dug into the bank. I shot up a driveway, turned around real quick and came back to help. He did what any brawny redblooded american would do. He just pulled the pickup forward and dumped the cub. I was kind of glad because I couldn't see how we were going to lift it anyway. He thanked me for stopping and I drove away. If it had been a 700+ lb. Allis, I would have stopped anyway even though we would have had no chance of lifting it.

What some people won't do when they are bored!! LOL I can picture that cause I've pulled that kind of stunt way too many times and came out alive and unhurt. It reminds me of something I saw on a jobsite a few weeks back.. some construction worked loading a small Cat on a trailer behind a pick-up. When he hit a balance point the back wheels of the truck came a foot off the ground. then a bit farther and the back bumper was on the ground. I couldn't stand to see if he tried to drive off with it so I dumped my load of rock and got the h#&@ out of there! Larry

A local contractor is at home recuperating from his hospital stay due to when he wrecked his truck and trailer with a backhoe. The trailer began swaying the truck and separated from the truck. Totaled the truck and trailer. Don't know how the backhoe came out. He has a broken collar bone, several broken ribs, a few stitches, and is beat up all over. The lesson here is make sure the trailer is balanced properly (heavy at the front) when loading and pulling a trailer. He was only going about 40 mph. The truck rolled at least 3 times and the cab caved in. He did have a seat belt. It probably saved his life. Bottom line; BE CAREFUL!
