RedbarnRick Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 I am thinking of rebuilding the 16 hp briggs model 326431, I have had no luck finding parts or a rebuild kit for this engine, it's the original still has 90 lbs compression but it's starting to smoke only uses a half pint of oil mowing 6-8 acres, but I smell like exhaust after I'm done, any additional info will always be welcome.
MPH Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 Sandy Lake Imp came up with all the parts I needed for my model 19, including .030 over piston and rings. Give them a call. With that good of compression you may get by with a set of rings..MPH
RedbarnRick Posted November 8, 2003 Author Posted November 8, 2003 Thanks (_8^(I) right under my nose!
DaleC Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 I have never seen a rebuild kit for these engines. You just have to buy what you need. Have the numbers off the motor ready and have at it. If you have a local briggs dealer or repair facility, they can also get you the parts.
