I was vacuuming leaves today with the B-212. Was running great, then died like I shut off the key. Pulled out plug, no spark. Took off points cover, no spark jumping between point gap. The black wire to the points/condenser, when you hold a test light to it, should it be hot?? (with ignition on). It won't light a test light. Any ideas?? Thanks Jack

Possible your switch shorted out. All these switches really are is a kill switch, short to ground. Maybe wire leading to it rubbed though somewhere. Otherwise I think you'd be looking at coil problems, but not sure so wait for more feedback before you pull flywheel..MPH

You can test by removing the wire from the key switch that goes to the engine. Check for spark with it removed and if you have spark then, your switch or wire are grounded.

The wire from the ignition switch grounds out the points -- not provide power to them. try remving that wire and see if it'll start. Sounds like the points are grounded out to me...

Either that, or the condensor may be shorted.
