RickS Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 I just got back from picking up the 42 inch blade and hitch that Nahrwold had for sale. Round trip was 386 miles, 13 dollars in gas, and 6 dollars in tolls. Nahrwold's description was right on. The blade and hitch look new, never used. Nahrwold was great to deal with. I got to look at all his toys. Nahrwold needs more tractors so he can leave all the attachments hook up and ready for use. Dutch I saw one of your grader blades. It looks great! Nahrwold thanks again for the blade and hitch; you were great. Rick........
IronPony Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 What are you driving that gets that kind of gas mileage?? Dan
RickS Posted November 8, 2003 Author Posted November 8, 2003 Dan, I drove my highway car; a Chevy Prizm. It may be small, but it gets great case mileage. Most of the time I was going 70. My gas mileage was 41 mpg. My other choice was a V8 Ford explorer, but that only gets 20 mpg. Rick........
jkmustang1 Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 Rick Your foot must be lighter than mine my 98 awd 5.0 Explorer only gets 16-1/2 to 18
RickS Posted November 9, 2003 Author Posted November 9, 2003 Jon, I am not sure if my foot is lighter, I go the speed of traffic. Here in Maine, that is 70 mph. My Explorer is the same as yours, 98 awd 5.0 with stock tires. Around town it gets 14 - 15, but on the highway it always gets 20 mpg. The key maybe to drive very smoothly. No quick stops or starts. In fact when I start out at lights most people next to me will out accelerate me. Rick.......
jkmustang1 Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 I try to drive as smooth as I can but I do run faster 74 to 85. The faster is running late to work. 2500 rpm or there about at 74. So I guess I do have a heavy foot but boy is it fun LOL. And I do have to work so I can pay for my addiction AC tractors.
