Just wanted to thank everyone for your help. I requested help from Briggs tech support this morning re: possible need to have the flywheel re-polarized and this was there reply: "If the first 2 numbers in the code are 81 or less, this may be your cause of concern. You will need to package the flywheel properly (we have received several of these already broken from shipment because they were not packaged properly) , with a short note descibing what you need and the model, type and code of the engine and send them to: Briggs and Stratton Corp. Menomonee Falls Plant ATTENTION REPAIR DEPARTMENT W156 N9000 Pilgrim Road Menomonee Falls, WI 53051-2272 We will re-polarize your flywheel and send it back to you, free of charge". Hope this might help anyone else that has the same problem.

Thanks for the update on Magnetron conversion - I recommend doing this in the winter (if you do not have a plow). Or try scrounging up a used flywheel and have it ready and waiting. I had a flywheel once that just didn't want to come off - untill 3 hrs later!
