SmilinSam Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 The first year of the 7000 series Simplicity garden tractors also used the old Vickers Hydro's, not the Sundstrands..........
Brent_Baumer Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 That would mean there is NO difference between the 3400 series and the first 7000's - correct? At least no differences that I can tell having owned a few of each, just not an early 7016H with a Vickers anyway. I know the 3410 and early 7010 sure look the same except for the decals.
SmilinSam Posted November 10, 2003 Author Posted November 10, 2003 I had a System 7016 Hydro with a vickers and it was identical to the 3400 series hydro except I think the 7016 had a amp gauge instead of the gen light. I have to check on that though. I stopped at a friends house to do some trading this weekend and he has a 7016 with a Vickers too.
ambler Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 I have two system 7016Hs, I believe they both have sundstrums. I can give serial numbers tomorrow. My 3416H has a vickers. The early 7016H with a vickers should have low serial numbers.
IronPony Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Where do you find the identifying markings/numbers on hydros??
UCD Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 To back up What Sam stated The Owners and parts manual for the 7013H MFG# 1690184 on page 15 shows the hydro to be a Vickers also in the parts section on pages 30, 31 & 32 On the same note the manual for the early 7016h MFG# 1690006 shows the sundstrand hydro
Brent_Baumer Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 I wonder if Vickers had fixed their leaky pintle shaft problem by that time. If so, the 7000 series Vickers would be very desirable.
