6118 Wheel comments

Hi In my comments about the 6118 wheel I neglected to mention the importance of putting anti-sieze compound on keyed axles, pulleys etc when assembling them. If you have keyed wheels as most newer tractors do, remove the wheels once a year and coat the axles with a thin coat of anti-sieze and you will be so grateful when in the future you need to pull a wheel. Good luck, Al

Anyone who drove British sports cars with the knock-on hubs can relate to that. Those wheels could be heck to get off if you didn't keep the hud splines clean and greased with a water-proof grease.

Just like getting the rear drums off of an old Chevy, except that you shouldn't 'persuade' Rudge wheels off with a torch! Fred
