Hello everyone I just bought an A/C T-811 Vari-Shift. Never seen one like it before. It has an 11 H.P. Briggs with 3 forward gears and 1 reverse. It also has a variable speed control which works on all the gears. I haven't crawled underneath to see how the Variable speed works yet. Does anybody know? It's not a Hydro. Looks real nice beside my 620 with front loader and tiller. Hows it going Floyd? Thanks for any insite Frank

THE VARI. SPEED CONTROL SET AT DIFFERENT POSITIONS MAKES THE TRACTOR MOVE FASTER OR SLOWER. IT WORKS JUST LIKE A CREAPER GEAR IN A BIG TRACTOR.

The procedure that I've linked below is from the AC B-series service manual, but probably applies to your tractor also. [A href='http://www.simpletractors.com/service/vari-drive_adjustment.htm']http://www.simpletractors.com/service/vari-drive_adjustment.htm[/a]

Frank, This is the same as a Simplicity 6211. It has a small variator that has many common parts with John Deere. Apparently supplied by a common vendor. Note there should be a serial number break on some years of these. The tractors have the same 169**** number but use different belts. Do not lube the variator with oil. It is common for them to rust and get sticky and the best fix is to take them apart and shine up the hub that the center flange moves on. They only affect speed by 20 to 30 %. I probably sold 20 of them in 11, 16 and 18 hp. There is a 6200 shop manual available and it is necessary to set up the linkage on these and have them behave. Pretty troublefree otherwise. Good luck. Hi Frank, It's going good, I love Spring, great time of year. I have the vari-drive on my opps,JD 110, it's a great feature, such as when you are cutting tall grass and it's tough going, just use the vari-drive to slow the tractor down, the engine speed stays the same. It's also super for attachments like tillers. Enjoy that T-811!!! Floydster
