Just wondering how many of you only look at messages on the first page when you login. If you look at the second page on a regular basis do you look past that? Is a message thread for the most part dead once it goes off the first page. If you responded to a message on page three what's the chance that anyone would see it. I usually look at the first page for new messages and then look at message strings I've been interested in. Tim

Tim, I just look at the 1st page because I check the message board a couple times a day. Only look at previous pages to see it there are any further replies to messages I have posted.

Tim and everyone, I just added new functionality to show a "NEW" picture beside the date of any main message, reply to a main message, want ad, or for sale ad that has been posted since your last visit (based on a date/time set in the user cookie). Hopefully this will make it easier to "discover" when there's been activity in a thread. I can't add this same functionality to highlibht new follow-ups to want ads or for sale ads, since the database does not record the time of the followup to an ad, only the date.... I'm not sure how well this new functionality works yet, but I am testing it out. I think it's working, at least on the discussion forum. Still not sure about the ads yet. Maybe someday I can figure out a way to sort the display and show both the most recent messages AND the most recent replies (active older thread) at the top of the list. Now it shows only most recent message. But, that's currently "above my skill level," and a bit low on the priority list.... Kent Kent
