32" snowthrower belt routing

Recommended Posts

I have the single belt snowthrower on my 738 Broadmoor, and by the manual it says to "place the flat side of the belt around the R.H. front PTO idler", which is a standard V shaped idler, not a flat idler. This doesn't seem right, does anyone else have this setup on their tractor? The belt fits and appears to work okay, but one would think it would wear prematurely. Otherwise you would be putting a 180 degree twist in about a 1 foot span. ps: I am bummed we didn't get any snow in SE Mich.

You don't have to change that pulley The belt does a twist...knotice the diagram I provided below...You will need a Simplicity belt or at least one of the good green/blue belts...as the regular belts can't handle that twist and will either flip over or just plain fall off...
