The only info I can find on this is in this parts manual. http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/6767PRINT/PDF_files/TP_400_861_05_AT_SMA.pdf according to my books it was available from 1979 to 1986 for the 7100 series Simplicity and 900 series Allis Chalmers tractors On these tractors they would have been run off from the cone clutch. On these tractors with a hydrostatic transmission you would all so need Rear P.T.O. Drive Kit MFG# 1685225. There was an earlier 1500 watt gen/alt but I can not find the MFG# on it. The belt # for these tractors is 1713515 78.1" long type HA I would imagine that it would use the same type of clutch arrangement as a rototiller mounted on your tractor bur the belt # would not be the same. You could drive it direct drive off from your rear PTO with the correct belt length 0you will have to measure this your self) and tighten it with the belt tightener it would run constantly while your tractor was running. As this was not made or sold for use with your tractor there is no Kit/parts to make it work on your tractor other than what you can engineer/make to use it. But it can be used as I explained above.

This is a diagram of the belt and clutch setup for a tiller for your 310 tractor The clutch assy. outlined in blue is part of the tiller. To power your Gen/Alt with out a clutch you could use the parts outlined in red these parts should be the same as available for the 7100 series Simplicity and the 900 series Allis Chalmers and are available at a dealer. You would need to order brackett # 18 which mounts on the rear lift pivot arm Pulley # 20 & 22. The only thing with this setup you will not have a clutch. Note At a cost of $25.00 per hour to research this and make diagrams you have just saved your self $75.00. well worth the cost of $10.00 membership.

I'm a little confused. As is the case most of the time. Do the 400 tractors not have a cone clutch? My grandfather had a 416 but the deck ran off the front pyo and I don't remember the BVB.

Electric clutch standard on front of 400;s, just a normal pulley on the bgb I think.Thats all my 416H has, and the 310 has nothing
