KT-17 II Gas in crankcase...again

Recommended Posts

In a previous post I discussed that alot of gas had found its way down into the crankcase of my 7117H. I had replaced the fuel pump, changed the oil and all was well. It has sat since. Today i checked the oil BEFORE starting the tractor and found again that the oil is diluted significantly with gas.Yes I have a shut off valve and filter in the fuel line, but no it was not closed during the interval between fuel pump replacement and now. I can see that closing the valve would eliminate the problem, but I wouldn't think I would need to do this in the first place. I checked the carb float valve and it appears to function properly. Is there anyhting else I should be checking? Is it possible that the new fuel pump is bad and it is now leaking? Help! Brian

Hi, i would suspect the inlet needle in the carb is not seating well or the float is not set correctly or has a leak in it and has some gas inside it. I would look at these and leak test the inlet. Good luck , Al Eden
