snow/dirt plow and rear dirt plow(brinley?)

OK so here's another find . I have found a snow plow with hitch not sure if its a simplicity or allis. front of blade is red, the rest of it is yellow and no tags. the center pin/bolt hole is well worn out and oblong. The same fellow also has a plow like the ones pictured in Dav's post about the plow hitch and also has the hitch piece pictured in UCD's reply. What do ya think these are worth. the snow/dirt plow needs some work on the piviot/angle pin area. i figure I can just take some flat stock and drill and weld. The other plow looks to be complete but it was partly in the snow. boy between the 2 tractors the loader and now possibly the plow I have alot of work todo...:D as soon as spring gets here...

Whats it worth?.....What are you willing to pay? :D I've seen them from free to 150 for the snowplow. The land plow, the same but I think you can still order a new one from Brinley or even Sears? As for the make, they were identical except for the paint so you probly saw a simp plow on an allis mount....;)

I have an idea for fixing the egged out angle adjustment pin holes but have not tried it yet. Get some pipe that the pins will fit through, 1/2" I believe. Cut short sections that will fit between the upper and lower plates of the hitch, line the pipe up so the pins fit(put them in place and drop the pins in to hold them there), and tack weld them. Check the fit and try it with the plow just to be sure everything's lined up OK. If it's good to go, remove the pins and weld it up solid. If the holes are too worn, just drill out the upper and lower plates so the pipe fits through the plates instead of in between them, line it up and weld it. I've used this method to fix worn pivot holes for the trip blade on my 46" HD plow but not the hitch angle adjustment pivot holes on a 42" blade....

It'll work Kirk. On the mount sent to Jon, I tacked a stack of washers in between when I tried that mount out. It worked pretty well. Pipe would be easier to manage than 6 or 7 washers at once so it should work even better. If you added to that Marty's (MPH) strengthening fix from a while back you would have a vast improvement over stock. ;)

those plows are handy for snow but for moving dirt its alittle risky. I Broke the shifting pin trying to cover a ditch. Its not a pretty picture when you go to fix it. Not being to handy with that type of thing I took it to the local ripoff palace here in Asheboro NC and by the the time it got fixed, I was out almost 600 bucks for a total rebuild. That was with me bringing the tranny allready out of the tractor. Since then I managed to in stall new seals on the other tractor. Wish I could go to that transmission school up east.

Every time I put the blade on Dan, I leave it sit outside so it stays cold, I ask myself why in the heck I didn't do that while I was at that project. Guess I'll have to drill one end out now and drop the pipe in.

I don't think moving the dirt is what caused a problem with your shift stem. Look what I did with a 40+ year old 725........ http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=17144&SearchTerms=Garden,Leveling, http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=17974&SearchTerms=Garden,leveling,update

I got it in a little late and the weather wasn't as cooperative as I'd have liked but it did OK. I'll get it in earlier this year and we should do fine.... Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
