This is the first time i have used a shuttle transmission, and I have noticed that in reverse it makes a weird grinding/whining noise, is this normal? The fluid is up, and it only does it for a short time when I move the lever to reverse, then it gets quieter. Has this happned to anyone else? THanks,

A whirring ("whining") noise in reverse is normal for a shuttle. That's the planetary gears. A "grinding" noise is not normal.

The shuttles in these tractors are usually noisy. I heard a few even sound like there are marbles rolling around inside the transmission.

Those marbles turned out to be bearings going out in my idler pulley on my AC712S. You really should only hear a little "normal bearing" noise. Dan

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
