Cultivator shanks, which to buy?

Recommended Posts

I have an older Simplicity one piece v-type cultivator and was going to replace the shanks. It seems there are many types available at a low price. I've narrowed it down to chisels similar to original, or a combinantion of 4 seeps and two half sweeps in the middle. Do the sweeps work better than chisels. The new chisels I found are much heavier than the originals but aren't as sharp. I'm leaning towards sweeps. Cost isn't a factor as the chisels are only about 1.50 or less each and the sweeps are something like 2.00 ea.

Thanks. Chris

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
