Hydraulic lift pulley

Recommended Posts

I know this has already been talked about, but I couldn't find the old form. Is there a difference in the size of engine pulley that mounts on the drive saft on a B-series on a 9, 10 or 12 horse tractor. Thanks!

Yup, the diameter is the same, but the thickness is different. The 10 horse and smaller use a thinner pulley. The 9 and 10 horse engines use a cast iron adapter to connect the driveshaft to the engine. This extends about 1/2" farther from the flywheel than the aluminum booster fan/starter pulley of the 12 horse and larger engines. If I'm not mistaken the booster fan can be installed on the smaller engines, replacing the cast iron adapter and sheet metal starter pulley (and vice versa), so there are a few different options to make either pulley work on any of those engines.
