ATF/TDH/TD

If you'd bought an old, used, garden tractor with a hydro trans, and you'd run it a couple hundred hours and then you'd added Shell TD fluid because you thought that summer's coming and you should bring it up to level and then you thought mavbe I should change the filter and what was in the filter looked like ATF, would you worry? I could have put that simpler by asking if ATF, Texaco TDH, and Shell TD are compatible, but it's been a long day and I'm trying to make it longer. :)

Never mix them, it can cause a sludge buildup. If it were me, I would use Type F instead of ATF. Type F is designed to be used also as a power steering fluid and is designed a little more toward a hydraulic fluid than a transmission fluid. They are very similar and any of the ones mentioned should work. I myself am using Simplicity fluid in my AC716H.
