Sickle Mower Pitman bearing ? Another ?

Recommended Posts

MPH
Hoping to solve my problem of the drive pulley coming loose I'm replaceing the pitman crank bearing, easy job done, which had a Little play. Figured I may as well replace the pitman houseing bearing while I was at it. The new one does not have a grease hole in the race like the old one. Did a different model of these have a different location for the serk on the pitman housing?? Luckly I pressed the old one out in the vise instead of using a big hammer. Mine is the cable lift model that came with my 63/64 Landlord. About how much forward/rearward play should there be in the sickle? I know its adjusted by the wear plates, just not sure how tight to make it. 1/16th of an inch??
