http://i15.ebayimg.com/03/i/01/ad/f6/d2_0.JPG I have never seen a tiller that had tine extensions with supports on the end of the extensions for the tine shafts. Is this a factory item or a modification ? What do you think ? I know the extensions and housing extension are probably Simplicity but I have never seen the support on the end of the tine shafts. Looks like a good idea to me.[

Can't say for sure, but if I were to guese I'd say that was a homemade support without a bearing in it. Looks like the end of the shaft is tapered indicating it wearing for lack of a bearing. Looks like just a piece of tubing out there keeping the shaft from traveling to far.
